Is therapy only for serious issues?
Not at all. Many people come to therapy for personal growth, stress, or life transitions.

Individual therapy Options:

Adult Individual Therapy - individual therapy is offered both in person in san luis obispo or available via telehealth (video). Individual therapy allows you to carve out space to learn more about yourself, the challenges you’re facing and how to manage your feelings. You’ll have 50 minutes dedicated to just YOU with professional support, guidance, compassion and care. Individuals seek therapy for many reasons including major life transitions, mental health challenges, loss, confusion, depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, curiosity and much more.

Child individual therapy/Play Therapy - With children I offer non-directive play therapy and include education, ideas and collaboration with parents. Non-directive play is a technique that supports the child in expressing and processing feelings through play with professional support and care. I will typically meet with the child for several sessions and provide information and feedback to parents while respecting the confidentiality of the youth. Some sessions may include both parent and child or parent alone depending on need. In person therapy at my office in san luis obispo is preferred for children.

Teen Individual Therapy -  With teens I use a relational approach to build insight and skills in a safe, caring relationship. Teens have a unique outlook and need when coming to therapy and as with children, I’ll evaluate how to best incorporate information with parents to improve relationships and communication. Depending on the youth, this service can be offered in Office in San Luis Obispo or via telehealth (video).

Individual Telehealth/Online Therapy - I offer sessions through a HIPAA compliant online platform to anyone in the state of California. This is a great way to attend therapy if there are barriers to access, mobility or scheduling time for sessions. I’ve found that it is a little different than in-person therapy, but most of the time we quickly forget we’re on camera. All services are available in this platform and my approach remains the same.

Somatic Individual Therapy - Somatic theory can be incorporated throughout all of my services. somatic approach is woven throughout my work and can be utilized more or less based on client need and interest. Somatic approaches may include breath work, mindfulness, body awareness, relaxation techniques, or exploration of postures, gestures and movements. learn more about my somatic approach here.
